In the Mountains Immersive Festival will take place in Tatev

"In the Mountains" Immersive Festival of Syunik History and Legends will take place on June 24- 25. The program of the event includes performances about significant events and prominent figures of the Syunik region. The festival is free to attend. This was announced today at a press conference held in the press room of the "Armenpress" news agency.

During the two days of the festival, visitors will be able to take part in performances about the important historical events of Syunik near the Tatev Monastery as well as see the restored life of the 17 th century in the village of Old Halidzor. Moreover, local actors will stage a theatrical performance of a medieval dinner with the Orbelian noble family. The audience will also be able to participate in the national games and dances.

A fair will be organized at the Halidzor station of the Wings of Tatev aerial tramway, where craftsmen will demonstrate traditional crafts of the region and hold master classes for visitors. As part of the musical program, the group Tarup Trio by Miqayel Voskanyan will perform. There will be a dance floor with a DJ.

A food court and a children's area with a large selection of entertainment and games will operate at the festival site. Moreover, visitors will have access to excursions to the sights of Tatev and, of course, riding on the famous Wings of Tatev aerial tramway.

“Festivals play a significant role in the tourism industry. The Tourism Committee of Armenia is promoting tourism in four main directions: adventure, culture, gastronomic and nature. All these directions will be present in the “In the Mountains” festival, which is key in attracting tourists. We are always eager to support interesting events in order to make Armenia an attractive destination for international visitors”, said the Head of The Tourism Committee of Armenia Sisian Boghossian.

“We tried to make the program of the festival “In the Mountains” so that people of different ages and interests could learn the history and significant events of the Syunik region in the format of games and performances. We hope that guests will appreciate the hospitality of the people of Syunik, enjoy the beautiful mountain views and have a fun weekend. For us, the festival is also significant because it will attract a new flow of tourists to Tatev and help develop local businesses. All this, of course, will have a positive impact on the economy of the region,” said Ani Davtyan, project manager of the festival.

The festival "In the Mountains" will be held with the support of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. Festival organizers are Tatev Revival Foundation, Ruben Vardanyan Foundation, Impulse Management Company and Wings of Tatev aerial tramway.
