Stray dogs sterilization program

About the project

Stray dogs constitute a severe social problem in Dilijan. There are more than 100 stray dogs in the town now, which is much more than in other Armenian localities.

In July 2022, Tourism and Urbanism Foundation (TUF) organized a program to sterilize stray dogs in Dilijan. On the basis of the renovated premises, a social veterinary station was opened to provide some animal services. It works twice a week. In the project’s boundaries educational work with local residents is also conducted to prevent cruelty to animals.

The program was initiated by the business community of Dilijan and the ‘To Live’ Charitable Foundation. Tourism and Urbanism Foundation (TUF) was engaged in its implementation with the support of city residents and business representatives.
