Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, its largest cultural, industrial, transportation, and economic center. The modern appearance of Yerevan has mainly developed over the past century, but the city still preserves neighborhoods and individual buildings with a history of thousands of years.
The Erebuni Fortress, where the official history of Yerevan begins, is over 2 800 years old, and the Shengavit settlement is 6 000 years old. Despite its honorable age, Yerevan is a vibrant, lively city.
It hosts large cultural and sporting events, opens branches and offices of international companies, and has a growing industrial sector, including in the IT field.
Furthermore, Yerevan is very cozy and friendly. In 2022, it was ranked among the TOP 20 safest cities in the world.
